The Université de technologie Belfort-Montbéliard is located in eastern France. One of the three campuses (Belfort, Montbéliard, Sevenans), Montbéliard, is the birthplace of the French car manufacturer Peugeot, with factories and museums nearby. There are five courses in this university. Programs are characterized by engineering-based design research and education with extensive workshops and projects. Also, current students are required to do a long-term internship, and education emphasizes on practical skills.

One of the courses, the Ergonomics, Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering, focuses on the three areas of ergonomics, design and engineering. It has a similar educational system to the Department of Industrial Design in the School of Design. Also, the course on Mechanical Engineering and Design offers an educational program that fosters creative abilities in both design and mechanical engineering.

RemarksShort-term study abroad for 2 or 3 months is possible (adjustment required). It is necessary to match the start time of study abroad with the start time of the semester in September or February. Credits cannot be granted.
