Partner Affiliation: School of Design and Human Engineering

Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) is a national university established in March 2009 in Ulsan, the industrial capital of South Korea. The university aims to be a world-class university of science and technology with the slogan “FIRST IN CHANGE,” focusing on cutting edge new materials, bioengineering and next-generation energy.

As of 2020, there are 10 undergraduate schools and 18 graduate programs. It also has three other graduate programs. We have exchange agreements with the School of Design and Human Engineering and the Graduate School of Design and Human Engineering. The School of Design and Human Engineering has two departments, Industrial Design and Human Engineering, which are quite similar to the educational system of the Faculty of Design of our university.

All classes at UNIST are taught exclusively in English, and most students have native-level English proficiency.

The campus, like the Ito campus, is located at the foot of a mountain. It has a river running through the campus, and the school buildings are built around a large lake. There is a student dormitory within a 10-minute walk from the campus, where almost all students (including international students) live. Therefore, there are facilities such as a cafeteria, convenience store, bank and post office in the school building.
