My Thoughts on Studying Abroad
1. Outcomes
Before I started studying at the abroad university, I did an internship at a design office and conduct on-site research on advanced cases of apartment complex housing regeneration. Through visiting the apartment complexes, I was able to get a feel for the lifestyle of the people living there and the atmosphere of the community, and I was able to see the differences between apartment complexes in Germany and those in Japan. During the internship at the design office, I was involved in the basic design of a new apartment building in Frankfurt and attended meetings with the client and internal meetings. I experienced not only the design technology of German apartment complexes but also the way to conduct the business.

2. Challenges
During my internship at the design office, I gained a lot of experience, but there were times when I regretted not knowing the language well. All the staff could speak English, and I could perform my duties without any problems. However, during meetings and important conversations, I was unable to understand many conversations in German. I think it is not easy to understand the local language, but I felt that we could gain a lot from it.

Advice to Prospective Students
Compared to other European countries, Germany has a relatively low cost of living, and it is relatively safe. You will be able to focus on achieving your goals for your study abroad and have a fruitful experience. The local students will support you, so please take the initiative and try to get a variety of experiences during your limited time in Germany.
