International Program -Intellectual Property Rights: Global Perspective

This subject aims to provide students with a basic understanding of intellectual property rights in Japan and overseas. Students will understand the social-economic reasons for the protections granted to intellectual property rights through this subject. In addition, students will study a brief history of intellectual property rights and an overview of the four main categories of intellectual property rights such as copyrights, trademarks, patents and confidential information. In this subject, students will also be pitching on intellectual property rights protection for their business or start-up proposals.
