About Geiko Supporters

Are you passionate about embracing different cultures, supporting your fellow students, and making a real impact on campus life? Join Geiko Supporters, a dedicated team under the International Office of the Faculty of Design, working to foster a “Melting Pot” culture that brings together students from all walks of life. As a Geiko Supporter, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with international students, support their integration into life in Fukuoka, and promote cultural exchange and community building.

Why become a Geiko Supporter?
Cultural Exchange: Get to know students from different countries, learn new languages, and develop meaningful friendships.
Skill Development: Gain valuable experience in event planning, teamwork, and leadership while helping others.
Community Engagement: Share your expertise and make a positive difference by helping new students settle into Fukuoka.

Responsibilities
Befriend and Support International Students: Assist newcomers with essential tasks like registering at the Ward Office, opening bank accounts, and navigating life in Japan.
Event Planning and Organization: Work alongside the team to plan and organize welcome parties, and assist in the events organized by Geiko International Office.
Creative Engagement Activities: Create posters, or visual campaigns that foster empathy and belonging.

Current students from the School of Design / Graduate School of Design at Kyushu University (research students welcome).

I am an international student from Guatemala with a passion for organizing events, photography, and design. I enjoy helping new students, who often become new friends at Geiko. To me, being a supporter means opening the door to new opportunities, fostering intercultural exchange, and creating meaningful connections.
