The program aims to develop the stance, attitudes, and communication skills necessary to work independently in international society and to develop human resources with specialized design knowledge and skills and a sense of identity of their own country. By studying abroad or taking equivalent courses, students will learn approaches, methods, and ideas for design that do not exist in Japan to broaden their scope of design.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"747\" height=\"629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flow-of-the-International-Program-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flow-of-the-International-Program-1.jpg 747w, https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flow-of-the-International-Program-1-300x253.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/Flow-of-the-International-Program-1-720x606.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for&nbsp;Program Completion<\/strong><br>After enrolling in the international program, students who meet the following three conditions will be issued a certificate of completion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(1)&nbsp;Students must take the following four&nbsp;subjects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Intellectual Property Rights: Global Perspective\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Summer Term\uff09&nbsp;<br>&#8211; Global Design Innovation\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate SummerTerm)<br>&#8211; Design Pitching Skills\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Autumn Term)<br>&#8211; Start-ups and Global Disruptors\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Winter Term)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(2)&nbsp;Study abroad (including short-term study abroad) and&nbsp;obtained&nbsp;4 or more credits in subjects other than languages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(3)&nbsp;Must meet undergraduate graduation requirements.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>English Tests<\/strong><br>Students must take the English test (TOEFL,IELTs,etc.) in their second year to prepare for study abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Language proficiency levels vary from university to university. For more information, please refer to the list of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/945ff5d344e4a2f4dbaa364b3bcb01c1-3.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020-2021_PartnerUniversityList.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Exchange Programs \u2013 Faculty Level\/Studying Abroad Information<\/a>&#8221; or &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/agreeview\/institution.php?en=1\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/agreeview\/institution.php?en=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University Student Exchange Agreements<\/a>&#8221; on this website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Subjects<\/strong><br>The four international program subjects offered in English and each subject provides 1 credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Intellectual Property Rights : Global Perspective<\/strong>\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Summer Term\uff09<br>Students will learn the basics of domestic and international intellectual property matters in a way that is useful in practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Global Design Innovation<\/strong>\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Summer Term\uff09<br>Through specific case studies of overseas social design, students will acquire the ability to participate in projects and propose solutions and prototypes to problems in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Design Pitching Skills<\/strong>\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Autumn Term\uff09<br>Students will learn presentation, communication and pitching skills to convey their ideas clearly in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start-ups and Global Disruptors<\/strong>\uff08Year 2 Undergraduate Winter Term\uff09<br>Through case studies and other exercises, students will learn the fundamental theories, knowledge, and methods needed to start up a business as an entrepreneur.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Study Abroad<\/strong><br>Students must study abroad (including short-term study abroad) and obtain 4 or more credits in subjects other than languages. Alternatively, a minimum of four credits for participation in an international project conducted in Japan is a requirement for program completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transdisciplinary Project<\/strong><br>Upon returning to Japan, students participate in the Transdisciplinary Project A, and B offered in Year 3 and 4 and share the knowledge and experiences they have gained through studying abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration\u00a0for the International Program<\/strong><br>If you are considering participating in the International Program, we recommend that you attend a guidance session in the first semester of your first year or in the spring term of your second year for information on preparation for the program. A program briefing session will be held in the spring term of the second year, after which students must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gg.design.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/en\/current_students\/registration-for-international-program\">online application form<\/a>. Students will be selected at the beginning of the summer quarter, when the international program\u00a0begins.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of students enrolled in the International Program is limited to 10.
